The history of Logitrans ...

Once upon a time...

2005-12-22

”Our company is growing very big now, and I would therefore like to tell the story about how we ended up here in Farup”. This is how Ingrid Pedersen starts her story about how she and her husband, Nis A. Pedersen, in 1940 bought the little smithy near Ribe and started manufacturing agricultural machines and later hydraulic equipment and material handling equipment. They called the company Nisap Maskinfabrik.

The Nisap era ended in 2002 by the merger between Nisap Maskinfabrik A/S and the sales company since 1982, Logitrans A/S. The family-owned company is today managed under the company name Logitrans and has 130 employees, distributed among the mother company in Denmark and seven foreign divisions. Today Mr. Erling Pedersen, son of the founders, is the President of the company, also counting his wife and two daughters.

“A family-owned company, managed by the owner has many advantages. The decision-making process is short, and there is a close contact between owners and employees”, says Mr. Pedersen. “A family-owned company can make long-term plans and does not necessarily have to focus on short-term results all the time. This gives stability and time to perform in the best way and achieve long-term profit”.

Logitrans A/S is today leading and innovative within development and manufacturing of material handling equipment with focus on ergonomics and optimum working conditions. The new range of stackers, Logiflex, is one examples of this. Many people have called the new range stacker of the future, because it is epoch-making regarding both design and function. The company also manufactures a various number of other products, which all focus on the well-being of the users and which thereby participate in increasing the efficiency and work satisfaction in the companies.
